but the Crazy, Stupid, Love the PA has for the PAP.
Why opposition MPs can't be advisers to grassroots bodies
WE REFER to Mr Muhammad Yusuf Osman's letter yesterday ('Advisers to grassroots bodies should be elected MPs').
The mission of the People's Association (PA) and its grassroots organisations (GROs) is to bond the community and connect people with the Government. PA and its GROs serve all residents regardless of their political affiliations in fulfilling their role.
Grassroots advisers are appointed by PA, a statutory board. Besides connecting people to people, grassroots advisers are required to help the Government connect with people and help promote government policies and programmes such as anti-dengue and active ageing.
Hence, the Government has to appoint grassroots advisers who support its programmes and can play this role well. Opposition MPs cannot be expected to do this and thus cannot become advisers to GROs.

People's Association1) The love SPH has for the PAP is so deep it publishes this letter from the PA.
2) The love PA has for the PAP is so deep, it is unfathomable.
3) This is a extremely subjective, very baseless letter that never should have been written, let alone published.
My takeaways from this letter are that:
a) PA and GROs will "serve residents regardless of their political affiliations" but those SERVING, MUST be from the SAME political affiliation.
- Did it ever occur to you that those serving might be from a different political affiliation because those being serve DO NOT WANT to be served (or slaved, however you want to look at it) by the other political affiliation?
b) Elected opposition MPs do not support anti-dengue and active aging programs.
- Really? Please do name me ONE person who really does not care about dying from Dengue Fever. DENGUE FEVER IS TRULY ABOVE POLITICS.
- What has the opposition MPs done to make that accusation that they do not support anti-dengue and active aging programs?
- Are members of the ruling party, defeated ones, more capable than elected ones to support an anti-dengue program?
c) "Opposition MPs cannot be expected to do this..."
- How would you know?
- Have you given them a chance and they have failed?
- In what capacity to you make such subjective statements?
PA is a statutory board. That means that the salaries of the employees are paid with taxpayers monies. Unless PA has recently started a school for the mentally retarded, as a tax paying Singaporean, I would like to demand that my money be put to better use on a better person(s).
I would like to demand the resignation or termination of:
(1) The Director of Corporate and Marketing Communications
(2) The Chief Executive Director
